Frances Patricia Laurenzi, 72, of Sims, Arkansas, passed away at home on March 29, 2013.
Frances “Pat” was born in Memphis, Tennessee to John and Catherine Hunter on May 25, 1940. She went to high school at St. Agnes Academy, graduating in 1958. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Memphis State University in 1962. She went on to earn a Master’s degree. She worked as an English, Speech, and Drama teacher for 35 years, mostly with the Department of Defense Dependent School System in Panama, Iceland, and Japan. Her “retirement” was spent as an online instructor for the University of Phoenix.Frances was a devout Roman Catholic, and contributed to several charities and missions. She enjoyed travel, music, theatre arts, her pets, her husband of 49 years, six children, six grandchildren, and the lifetime friends she made in her travels.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents, John and Catherine Hunter.
She is survived by: her husband, Ernest S. Laurenzi of Sims, Arkansas; Daughters: Catherine Bridges and her son Richard Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee; Mary Laurenzi of Melbourne, Florida; and Francesca Laurenzi and her daughter Ava of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Sons: Ernest Laurenzi of Kapolei, Hawaii; John and Brandy Laurenziand their two children, Tucker and Hayes of Wetumpka, Alabama; and Joseph and Jessica Laurenzi and their two children, Glen and Catherine of Okinawa, Japan.
The family extends their gratitude to Dr. Mike Verser, Dr. Robert Kleinhenz, Dr. Fred Heinemann and the staff of Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs, including the staff members of the 2 East Cardiac Unit and Mercy Diabetes and Wound Center.
Funeral services will be held at All Saints Catholic Church on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 10:30 a.m., performed by Father Norbert Rappold. Burial/Interment will follow at Rocky Creek Cemetery. Thornton Funeral Home in Mt. Ida, Arkansas is handling the funeral arrangements.
